Frequently Asked Questions
HOW LONG WILL THERAPY TAKE?This will be discussed more fully towards the end of the initial meeting, when the way forward may be clearer.
The short-term route may entail 5 - 10 weeks approximately. This will be a more focused counselling approach, working towards agreed and well-defined goals.
Longer term work can also be time-limited, when open-ended therapy may not be feasible.
Open-ended psychotherapy addresses more complex issues in greater depth.
The progress of therapy is reviewed along the way, allowing clients to evaluate the process and their situation.
WHAT ABOUT FEES?
There is a charge of £45 for the initial session which takes 1 and 1/4 hours. This is to allow sufficient time to assess the issues, to discuss possible ways forward, to raise questions, as well as to negotiate the fee for any further sessions.
Regular fees can be paid weekly or by monthly invoice and receipts are provided.
